This year, A-Tech High School’s My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) and My Sister’s Keeper (MSK) clubs have made a significant impact on campus, fostering leadership, empowerment, and a sense of community. With exciting events, mentorship opportunities, and even trips, these clubs offer students a chance to grow personally and academically while making lifelong connections.
MBK’s Mission: T.H.R.I.V.E. Together
Guided by the principles of T.H.R.I.V.E.—Togetherness, Health & Wellness, Respect, Inspiration, Vision, and Excellence—MBK has established itself as a space for students to prepare for college and career success. Meeting every other Wednesday in the student lounge from 4:15 to 5:15 PM, MBK provides members with the tools and mentorship they need to succeed.
A major highlight this year was the District MBK Kick-Off Event, hosted right here at A-Tech. Over 200 students and advisors from across the district gathered to honor student Ambassadors, including our own Lyron Bovell, who proudly represented A-Tech. This event was filled with powerful speeches, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, setting the stage for an impactful year ahead.
MBK is also known for its exciting trips, which provide students with opportunities to visit colleges, attend leadership conferences, and explore career pathways. These trips inspire members to think big and aim high, helping them envision their future successes.
MSK’s Commitment to R.I.S.E.
Meanwhile, MSK has created a vibrant and supportive community focused on R.I.S.E.—Resilience, Inspiration, Self-Love, and Empowerment. The club meets regularly to host workshops and discussions that promote emotional wellness, self-confidence, and sisterhood.
MSK’s inaugural event earlier this year brought members together to pledge their commitment to personal growth and community service. The club also plans to organize empowering field trips and events, giving members the chance to connect with peers and mentors while exploring opportunities for growth.
